List of products by brand DOMAINE FIGUIÈRE

Rooted in La Londe-les-Maures in the Var, Domaine Figuière farms 125 hectares of certified organic vines across two contrasting Côtes de Provence terroirs, just inland from the Mediterranean. Founded in 1979 and taken over in 1992 by Alain Combard — a Burgundian vigneron with a keen eye for terroir — the estate is today run by his children Magali, Delphine and François, who extended the holding in 2019 with the acquisition of Château Barbeiranne at Pignans. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the rigour of its organic approach, the precision of its blending across schist and clay-limestone soils, and the genuine quality of its reds, whites and rosés. A benchmark address in Provence.

Domaine Figuière represents one of Provence's most coherent and committed estates: 125 hectares farmed entirely under organic certification, two complementary terroirs, and a family determined to show that this sun-drenched appellation is far more than a source of pale rosé.

A Provence estate with roots going back to 1979

The story of Domaine Figuière begins in La Londe-les-Maures, a coastal commune in the Var département, where the estate was established in 1979. Crucially, organic farming was adopted from the very outset — a remarkable commitment for the era, and one that has shaped every decision taken since. In 1992, Alain Combard, a vigneron with a Burgundian background and a deep respect for terroir-driven winemaking, took over the estate and set about consolidating its reputation within the Côtes de Provence appellation. His instinct was to preserve what already worked — the organic certification, the maritime influence, the distinctive schist soils — while bringing greater precision to the winemaking.

Two terroirs, one vision

Today the estate spans two distinct sites. The original vineyards at La Londe-les-Maures are planted on schist veined with quartz, hillside plots that benefit from the cooling influence of the nearby Mediterranean and produce wines of notable freshness and mineral definition. In 2019, the Combard family expanded significantly with the acquisition of Château Barbeiranne at Pignans, adding clay-limestone soils that bring a different register — broader, more structured — to the estate's palette. Together, the two sites total 125 hectares, all certified organic, and allow the team to work with a wide range of varieties: Mourvèdre, Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault for the reds and rosés; Vermentino (Rolle) and Sémillon for the whites.

Organic farming as a founding principle

What distinguishes Domaine Figuière from many estates that have converted to organic viticulture in recent years is the continuity of its commitment: certified organic since 1979, the estate has never farmed any other way. The maritime climate of La Londe-les-Maures — with its sea breezes and well-drained schist slopes — lends itself naturally to low-intervention viticulture, reducing disease pressure and allowing the vines to express their terroir with minimal assistance. Today, Magali, Delphine and François Combard continue to develop this philosophy across both sites, with a focus on blending that reflects the complementarity of their two terroirs rather than the character of any single variety.

The wine range: red, white and rosé across Côtes de Provence

  • Rosé: The backbone of the range, drawing on Grenache, Cinsault and Mourvèdre from the schist soils of La Londe-les-Maures. Pale, precise and driven by Mediterranean freshness rather than weight.
  • White: Blends of Vermentino (Rolle) and Sémillon, showing the aromatic lift characteristic of coastal Provence alongside a pleasing textural depth.
  • Red: Structured blends built around Mourvèdre and Syrah, with the garrigue-inflected character of the Var and genuine ageing potential — a side of Côtes de Provence that rewards patience in the cellar.

Why we have selected Domaine Figuière

At Halles Quercamps, we have been listing Domaine Figuière because it answers a question we are often asked: where do you find a Provence estate that takes its reds and whites as seriously as its rosé? The Combard family's dual-terroir approach — schist at La Londe, clay-limestone at Pignans — gives the range a breadth and consistency that we find genuinely compelling. The organic certification, unbroken since the estate's founding year, is not a marketing addition but a structural fact. We recommend these wines to enthusiasts who already know their Provence rosé and are ready to explore the fuller picture: the mineral whites, the age-worthy reds. They also pair beautifully with the food of the region — grilled fish, tapenade, slow-cooked lamb — making them a natural choice for the table as much as the cellar.
