Five generations of Loire expertise in every glass

  • This moelleux strikes a refined balance between residual sweetness and natural acidity, offering a glimpse of genuine Loire elegance without excess.
  • A harmonious, well-integrated moelleux that demonstrates the discipline of the domaine: sweet, yet never cloying, with structure and purpose.
  • The interplay between acidity and residual sugar is carefully judged, giving the wine freshness and length rather than simple sweetness.

Product features : Domaine Dutertre Cuvée Gabriel Touraine Amboise Blanc Moelleux

In the mouth
Suave and unctuous on the palate, with richness balanced by acidity. The finish is clean and lingering, not heavy.
On the nose
Powerful aromatic profile: preserved apricot and peach, with quince paste and a delicate honeyed undertone that suggests careful élevage.
On the eye
Clear, luminous golden-yellow robe with bright definition.
M. Francois
I recommend this wine as an apéritif, or alongside foie gras and aged goat's cheese. It also serves well as a prelude to dessert. The moelleux character here is genuine—not a marketing term—and reflects the domaine's understanding of Touraine's terroir. A wine for those who appreciate restraint in sweetness.

DOMAINE DUTERTRE

Established in Limeray, Indre-et-Loire, Domaine Dutertre farms 37 hectares of silex clay and tuffeau soils, south-facing along the Loire, in the Touraine Amboise appellation. A family estate since the late nineteenth century, now in its fifth generation, it carries a remarkable distinction: Gabriel Dutertre was a co-founder of the Touraine Amboise AOC in 1954. Gilles Dutertre continues that legacy through Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Côt and Sauvignon, each rooted in the character of the middle Loire. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the depth of its Chenin whites, the directness of its Cabernet Franc and Côt reds, and the rare historical legitimacy of a producer who helped shape the appellation itself. A dependable reference from the Loire Valley.
