A harmonious marriage of two noble varieties

  • Crafted from venerable vines planted in 1955, this wine carries the weight of nearly seven decades of terroir expression. The age of these parcels lends depth and complexity that younger plantings simply cannot achieve.
  • The finish reveals an appealing spice character — white pepper and dried herbs — that lifts the wine beyond its weight and lingers with elegance on the palate.
  • This represents genuine value for a wine of such provenance and structure. A serious bottle that rewards the thoughtful drinker without demanding a premium price.

Product features : Sarda Mallet Terroir Mailloles 2006 Côtes du Roussillon

Breeding
Aged for 10 to 12 months in oak barrels with a controlled proportion of new wood.
On the eye
Brilliant ruby with amber rim, suggesting maturity and complexity.
On the nose
Candied stone fruits and quince lead, with secondary notes of dried herbs and a subtle mineral undertone characteristic of the Mailloles terroir.
In the mouth
Marked tannins provide structure and grip. The palate is layered: ripe red fruits, spice, and a mineral finish that speaks clearly of the wine's origin and age.
M. Francois
I have long admired Sarda-Malet's commitment to their old-vine parcels, and this Terroir Mailloles exemplifies why. It is a wine of genuine character—neither over-extracted nor timid. Pair it with the robust cooking of the Mediterranean: grilled lamb, herb-crusted fish, or game. It is precisely this kind of wine that reminds us why Roussillon deserves serious attention.
