In the mouth
Blackberry and cassis on the palate, with well-integrated tannins providing structure without harshness. The finish is persistent and dry, leaving a savoury mineral impression.
On the nose
Aromas of dark berries and plum, with subtle notes of vanilla and toasted oak. The bouquet is composed and evolving, offering layers rather than immediate exuberance.

Deep purple robe with garnet edges; a wine of substance and maturity.
I have long admired Belgrave for its consistency and restraint. This is not a wine that shouts; it speaks with the quiet authority of a well-made Médoc. Pair it with game—a civet of hare or venison would be ideal—or simply with a fine beef course. The wine will reward cellaring, but it is already drinking with considerable grace.

CHATEAU BELGRAVE
Château Belgrave spans 60 hectares at Saint-Laurent-Médoc, on two gravel ridges rising to 26 metres in the heart of the Haut-Médoc, classified 5th Grand Cru in 1855. Originally a royal hunting lodge under Louis XIV, the château was renamed Belgrave by Marcel Alibert, founder of the Syndicat des Grands Crus Classés, before being taken in hand by Dourthe in 1979 — a turning point that restored the property to its rightful standing. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the rigour of its HVE-certified viticulture, the consistency of its vintages across the decades, and a striking recent accolade: the 2021 vintage ranked in the Vinous Top 100 2024, the only classified growth from the Haut-Médoc to do so. A Bordeaux of genuine reference, faithful to its terroir.
