On the eye
Deep garnet with good colour intensity. A wine of substance and maturity.
On the nose
Ripe red and dark fruit—plum and blackcurrant—with subtle spice and earthy undertones. The bouquet is open and inviting, showing the wine's maturity without heaviness.
In the mouth
Generous and fleshy on the palate, with the characteristic richness of mature Merlot. The Cabernet Franc contributes structure and a dry finish that prevents any flabbiness. Good length.
This is a wine I have long appreciated for its honest character. It drinks well now with good food—roasted meats, game, mature cheeses—yet retains the structure to age gracefully. A dependable Saint-Émilion that reflects the vintage and the terroir without pretension. I recommend it to anyone seeking authentic Bordeaux at a fair price.
