Powerful aromatic expression: blackcurrant and blackberry lead, with the mineral precision characteristic of Loire Cabernet Franc.
In the mouth
Remarkably fine-grained tannins, almost powdery in texture. The tuffeau terroir delivers a vertical tension and subtle mineral sweetness that lifts the finish.
Romana is the 'vibration' to Igoranda's 'structure'—a cuvée that reminds me of the finest Côte de Nuits expressions in its delicacy of grain. This is Cabernet Franc at its most noble and least rustic: a wine of nuance and length, built for the connoisseur's palate.
