Family values and the terroir of the northern Rhône

  • Established in 1946 by Étienne Guigal in Ampuis, the historic cradle of Côte-Rôtie, Domaine Guigal remains a custodian of northern Rhône tradition and excellence. Four generations have stewarded these vineyards with unwavering commitment to their illustrious terroir.
  • This Crozes-Hermitage expresses the northern Syrah at its most refined: a wine of considerable freshness and equilibrium, where power and elegance find perfect balance. The appellation's characteristic mineral character shines through with clarity.
  • A natural companion to roasted and grilled red meats, game in particular, and to mature cheeses. The wine's structure and tannin grip make it equally suited to substantial winter fare and lighter spring cuisine.

Product features : Domaine Guigal - Crozes-Hermitage 2021

Breeding
Aged in oak barrel for approximately 24 months
On the eye
Deep, dark garnet robe with considerable depth and intensity
On the nose
Red stone fruits—cherry and strawberry—emerge first, followed by subtle oak-derived notes of cedar and spice. The bouquet unfolds with restrained elegance.
In the mouth
A wine of considerable structure and presence. Cassis bud and vanilla notes develop alongside firm, well-integrated tannins. The palate shows good concentration with a dry, persistent finish.
M. Francois
Remarkable freshness distinguishes this vintage. The tannins are substantial yet refined, shaped by extended élevage in wood that has softened their edges without diminishing their presence. A wine built for cellaring, yet approachable now with decanting.
