The benchmark of fine Rhône Valley wines

  • This wine represents a considered blend of Syrah and Grenache, two varieties that define the character of the southern Rhône. Guigal's careful selection and élevage produce a wine of genuine elegance and structure.
  • Domaine Guigal has established itself as a custodian of Rhône Valley tradition. This Côtes du Rhône demonstrates the house's commitment to quality across its range, offering genuine depth without pretension.
  • A wine of substance and finesse. The tannins are supple yet present, the finish persistent. This is a wine built for the table rather than for show—it rewards attention and improves with careful decanting.

Product features : Domaine Guigal - Cotes du Rhone 2022

Breeding
Aged eighteen months in large oak vats.
On the eye
Deep crimson with a lustrous sheen. The colour suggests ripe fruit and good concentration.
On the nose
A bouquet of dark berries—blackcurrant and plum—with subtle spice notes that suggest the Syrah component. The aromatics develop gradually, revealing hints of garrigue and dried herbs.
In the mouth
Full-bodied and well-balanced. The palate shows good amplitude with ripe tannins that are refined rather than aggressive. There is a pleasant grip on the finish, with the wine displaying both power and elegance.
M. Francois
This wine pairs naturally with charcuterie and cured meats, where its structure complements salt and fat. It is equally at home alongside roasted red meats and game dishes. Decant thirty minutes before service to allow the aromatics to fully develop.
