Product features : Domaine Jean-Marc Burgaud Morgon Chollet

Breeding
Made primarily in cement vats (sometimes a portion in old barrels) to allow the terroir to express itself without artificial oak influence.
On the eye
Intense ruby robe with violet reflections, characteristic of a wine recently released from barrel.
On the nose
Pronounced red fruit aromas—cherry and plum predominate—with secondary notes of liquorice and subtle yeast character that add complexity and depth.
In the mouth
The palate displays fresh red fruit expression with a delicate mineral undertone, delivering balance and refinement without excessive weight or extraction.
M. Francois
A versatile food wine suited to game, terrines and charcuterie, lamb preparations, and mature cheeses. The structure and acidity make it particularly rewarding with roasted and braised dishes where its mineral character provides counterpoint to rich flavours.

DOMAINE JEAN-MARC BURGAUD

Based in Villié-Morgon, Domaine Jean-Marc Burgaud farms 19 hectares across the celebrated slopes of the Côte du Py, at the heart of the Morgon appellation. Founded in 1989, the estate gained its true character in 1992 when Jean-Marc — trained in Burgundy and steeped in a vigneron family — took over his father-in-law's vines on these iron- and manganese-rich schists. That Burgundian formation shows: he reads his parcels with the rigour of a climat, coaxing both power and finesse from Gamay Noir on some of Beaujolais's most distinctive terroir. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the precision of its vineyard work, the typicity of its Morgon, and a consistency of style that places it firmly among the serious addresses of the appellation. A benchmark for the cellar.
