Product features : Domaine Laurent Gauthier Morgon Cote du Py 2021

Breeding
Aged 3-4 months in oak vat
On the eye
Deep garnet with violet reflections
On the nose
Ripe dark fruit—black cherry and kirsch—dominates, with the Py's signature notes of black pepper, liquorice and gunflint minerality from the volcanic terroir.
In the mouth
Tightly woven, athletic tannins of remarkable fineness. The wine possesses considerable depth and relief, its power tempered by mineral freshness that creates a sense of vertical lift and poise.
M. Francois
Laurent Gauthier's Cote du Py is an exemplary expression of this mythic terroir. A serious, age-worthy wine that reconciles Gamay's natural generosity with the nobility of fine red Burgundy. The duality is striking: telluric force from the blue stone married to aristocratic elegance. Pair with braised meats and sauced dishes.

DOMAINE LAURENT GAUTHIER

Rooted on the Côte du Py at Villié-Morgon, Domaine Laurent Gauthier stands at the heart of the Morgon appellation, where blue granite, schist and volcanic soils give Gamay a depth rarely found elsewhere in Beaujolais. Founded in 1834 and passed down through the generations, the estate was taken on by Laurent in 1991; his sons Jason and Elie now work alongside him — a continuity of family stewardship that speaks for itself. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the precision of its terroir expression, the coherence of its range across red, white and rosé, and a character firmly removed from négociant Beaujolais. For anyone seeking the true face of Morgon, these are bottles worth knowing.
