Breeding
Two-thirds in large wooden vats and one-third in demi-muids (600 litres), for 12 months
On the eye
Luminous ruby-red with excellent clarity and depth of colour.
On the nose
Expressive bouquet of dark berries and violets, with subtle spice and garrigue notes characteristic of the appellation. The aromatics are refined and layered.
In the mouth
The palate reveals good structure with ripe, well-integrated tannins. There is elegance and restraint here rather than power. With time, the wine will develop greater softness and complexity, showing the suppleness that defines fine Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
This is a wine that rewards patience. The 2022 vintage shows the hallmarks of serious Châteauneuf-du-Pape: balance, finesse, and the potential to develop beautifully over ten to fifteen years. Ideal with game birds and venison, or with the richer preparations of traditional French and Mediterranean cuisine.

Domaine de la Janasse is a wine estate in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, Courthézon (Vaucluse). Founded in 1973 by Aimé Sabon. Around 90 hectares of vines. Grapes: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault. Single-vineyard cuvées: Vieilles Vignes, Chaupin. Wines capture the diversity of terroirs across the appellation. Available at Les Halles de Quercamps.
