  • A natural companion to charcuterie, game, and mature cheeses. The wine's acidity and structure complement rich dishes without overwhelming the palate, making it a versatile choice for the table.

Product features : Domaine Jean-Marc Burgaud Morgon Cote du Py James

Breeding
Extended ageing in previously used oak barrels
On the eye
Deep, almost opaque garnet with purple-black hues. A wine of considerable concentration.
On the nose
Wild blackberry, cassis and dark cherry predominate, with subtle floral notes and a hint of mineral slate. The bouquet develops with aeration, revealing deeper layers of fruit and earth.
In the mouth
Concentrated and rich, with firm but ripe tannins that provide structure without harshness. Good acidity balances the weight, leading to a long, mineral finish with lingering dark fruit.
M. Francois
Excellent with Lyonnaise charcuterie, particularly rosette and saucisson sec. Also pairs well with beef dishes, game birds, and aged Comté. The wine's natural acidity makes it suitable for lighter meat preparations and even some fish courses with sauce.

DOMAINE JEAN-MARC BURGAUD

Based in Villié-Morgon, Domaine Jean-Marc Burgaud farms 19 hectares across the celebrated slopes of the Côte du Py, at the heart of the Morgon appellation. Founded in 1989, the estate gained its true character in 1992 when Jean-Marc — trained in Burgundy and steeped in a vigneron family — took over his father-in-law's vines on these iron- and manganese-rich schists. That Burgundian formation shows: he reads his parcels with the rigour of a climat, coaxing both power and finesse from Gamay Noir on some of Beaujolais's most distinctive terroir. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the precision of its vineyard work, the typicity of its Morgon, and a consistency of style that places it firmly among the serious addresses of the appellation. A benchmark for the cellar.
