Aged in cement vat, stainless steel, fibreglass and old oak foudres.
On the eye
Very dark garnet robe with dense colour saturation
On the nose
Pronounced aromas of roasted vanilla and buttered oak. Secondary notes of spice and toasted hazelnut emerge with aeration, characteristic of careful élevage.
In the mouth
Powerful and well-structured on the palate. Firm tannins provide the backbone, with roasted and torrefied notes building through the finish. Substantial but balanced.
The Cuvée Extrême represents Château Barréjat's commitment to traditional Madiran. Pair with cassoulet, duck confit, magret, game birds, Pyrenean sheep's cheese, or Auvergne blue. A wine that honours both the terroir and the table.
