Gamay freshness and pleasure from the Mâconnais

  • An authentic expression of biodynamically farmed vineyards, capturing the distinctive character of Mâconnais terroir. Saumaize-Michelin's commitment to sustainable viticulture yields wines of genuine complexity and restraint.
  • A fresh, fruited Gamay that delivers immediate pleasure without sacrificing finesse. The wine balances vibrancy with subtle structure, revealing layers of citrus and floral character as it opens.
  • A natural companion to convivial dining: grilled meats, charcuterie, soft cheeses, and lighter poultry dishes. Its acidity and freshness make it equally suited to simple bistro fare or informal entertaining.

Breeding
6 to 8 months in stainless steel vats to preserve freshness and fruit
On the eye
Pale greenish-yellow robe with bright clarity.
On the nose
An open, inviting bouquet suggesting acacia blossom, wet stone and lemon zest. The aromatics are clean and expressive without heaviness.
In the mouth
Soft attack followed by tense, lively palate structure. Citrus, honeysuckle and grapefruit emerge mid-palate with a subtle bitter edge. Long, zesty finish with persistent citric notes and gentle tannin grip.
M. Francois
Pairs well with beef, veal, game such as venison and roe deer, and poultry. The wine's acidity and freshness complement grilled preparations and charcuterie boards particularly well. Drink at cellar temperature or slightly chilled for maximum freshness.
