Breeding
Twelve months' élevage in French oak barrels. Marrenon uses a blend of new and one or two-year-old barrels to add complexity without oak dominating the fruit.
On the eye
Intense ruby robe with good depth and clarity
On the nose
Aromas of morello cherry and red berries, with delicate notes of sweet spice and a whisper of tobacco leaf. The bouquet develops with air.
In the mouth
Ripe stone fruit and fresh berry liqueur notes on the palate. The finish is long and layered, with fine tannin structure that suggests good cellaring potential.
A natural partner for duck breast, roasted shoulder of lamb, or game in rich sauce. The wine's acidity and structure make it equally compelling with dark chocolate preparations. Serve at 16–17°C to appreciate its full character. Drinking well now; will develop further over the next 4–5 years.

Marrenon is a wine cooperative in the Luberon and southern Rhône Valley. Founded in 1966, it brings together over 900 growers and 7,500 hectares of vines. Appellations: Luberon, Ventoux. Grapes: Grenache, Syrah, Vermentino, Viognier. The range includes red, rosé and white wines from Mediterranean terroir. Available at Les Halles de Quercamps.
