Breeding
Brief, approximately 6 months in stainless steel on fine lees to preserve the purity of the fruit and the wine's energy.
On the eye
Pale salmon-pink with copper glints; a colour that speaks of careful winemaking rather than industrial standardisation.
On the nose
Complex and far removed from confected sweetness. Tart red fruits—redcurrant, wild raspberry—mingle with Corsican maquis (myrtle, dried herbs) and a whisper of warm spice.
In the mouth
Lively attack, silken texture, and a graceful finish. White-fleshed stone fruits—peach and apricot—emerge on the palate with genuine finesse and length.
The Faustine Rosé represents what Corsican rosé can be when terroir and conviction drive the winemaking. This is no pale imitation, but a wine of character and structure, born of biodynamic farming in one of the island's finest microclimates. DOMAINE COMTE ABBATUCCI
Domaine Comte Abbatucci lies in the Taravo valley, southern Corsica. One of the island's oldest vineyards, it spans roughly 21 hectares of granitic hillsides at 150 m altitude. Biodynamic farming since 2000, led by Jean-Charles Abbatucci and his daughter Faustine. A unique conservatory of 18 indigenous Corsican grape varieties was established in the 1960s by Antoine Abbatucci. Main grapes: Vermentino, Sciacarello, Nielluccio.
