120 family estates united by passion for Burgundy

  • Mercurey represents one of Burgundy's most significant appellations, drawing strength from a collective of 120 family-run estates working with shared commitment to quality and terroir expression.
  • This wine displays pleasing roundness balanced with firm structure—a powerful, fleshy expression that rewards both immediate enjoyment and patient cellaring. The tannins are well-integrated and elegant.
  • Drink it now to appreciate the vibrant red fruit character, or cellar for five to eight years as it develops greater complexity and secondary aromas. The wine's structure supports extended ageing gracefully.

Product features : Les Vignerons de Buxy - Mercurey Rouge Buissonnier 2023

Breeding
Extended ageing in oak barrels and large wooden vats
On the eye
Deep ruby red with hints of garnet at the rim
On the nose
Aromas of red berries—raspberry and strawberry—with emerging notes of spice and subtle earthiness as the wine opens
In the mouth
Firm but elegant tannin structure. Flavours of raspberry, strawberry and cherry evolve towards woodland floor, tobacco and leather with air time. A wine of good balance and length.
M. Francois
A natural companion to traditional Burgundian fare: braised meats, beef grillades and entrecôte, coq au vin, lamb in sauce, gratins and mature cheeses. The wine's structure suits hearty, slowly cooked dishes particularly well.
