Breeding
Ageing 8 to 10 months in stainless steel, on fine lees until bottling.
On the eye
Deep purple with bluish reflections, suggesting youth and freshness.
On the nose
Aromas of red and dark berries—cassis, blackberry, raspberry—mingled with violet florality and white pepper spice. Inviting and layered.
In the mouth
Crisp attack. The Mondeuse tannins are present and refined, never harsh—a hallmark of the variety. Good structure carries through to a peppery, persistent finish.
A wine of genuine freshness and tension, yet with enough roundness to drink with immediate pleasure. The 2023 shows the vintage's generosity without losing the Alpine character we expect from Jongieux. Excellent with Reblochon or Tomme de Savoie, freshwater trout, or simply as an aperitif. This is serious regional wine-making.
