Ancient Corsican varieties reveal their finest expression

  • Domaine Comte Abbatucci tends one of Corsica's most venerable vineyards, where indigenous grape varieties have flourished for centuries. The estate's commitment to biodynamic viticulture honours both terroir and tradition.
  • Cultivated in biodynamic practice, the vineyard respects natural rhythms and soil vitality. This approach yields wines of genuine character and mineral precision, free from synthetic intervention.
  • A wine of striking equilibrium: the attack is crisp and direct, supported by a silken, generous mid-palate and a mineral-driven finish. Complexity unfolds through citrus zest, wild herbs, and subtle stone fruit, with remarkable persistence.

Breeding
Approximately 12 months in demi-muids (large 600-litre casks) of various wines to avoid over-oaking, followed by refinement in stainless steel vat.
On the eye
Clear and luminous, the wine displays a pale golden hue with bright, warm reflections.
On the nose
Successive waves of floral notes emerge: lime blossom, violet, and jonquil. These give way to delicate maritime notes—sea spray and shellfish—followed by wild mint, fennel, yellow plum, and guava.
In the mouth
The attack is lively and forthright, balanced by the wine's silken texture and velvety weight. The mid-palate and finish remain taut and complex, with spiced notes and candied citrus zest sustaining a long, mineral conclusion.
M. Francois
This is a wine of conviction. It demonstrates that Corsica can produce whites of tension and freshness comparable to the finest northern terroirs, whilst maintaining a distinctly Mediterranean aromatic identity. A genuine expression of island character.
