M. Francois
The 2022 vintage demonstrates Domaine de Montille's mastery of Pommard's demanding terroir. Les Rugiens-Bas shows the precision and restraint characteristic of the house, with tannins that are ripe yet structured. The organic farming practices are evident in the wine's purity and mineral undertones. A wine built for the cellar, yet approachable now with decanting.

DOMAINE DE MONTILLE

Set on the argilo-calcaire slopes of Volnay in the Côte-d'Or, Domaine de Montille farms 35 hectares under certified organic and biodynamic principles. Founded around 1750 and relaunched by Hubert de Montille in 1947 with a firm rejection of the négoce trade, the estate is now guided by his son Étienne, who deepened the biodynamic commitment and extended the portfolio with the acquisition of Château de Puligny-Montrachet in 2012. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are grown with quiet rigour, producing wines of mineral clarity and genuine Volnay finesse. At Halles Quercamps, we selected this estate for its multi-generational consistency, the integrity of its viticulture, and the way its terroirs speak plainly in the glass.
