A domaine of established reputation

  • Dominated by Syrah, this wine commands attention in our cellar. It displays considerable power and complexity, with intense dark fruit, pepper and spice notes, underpinned by a firm tannic structure that gains elegance from Grenache and Cinsault.
  • This wine rewards patience. Lay it down for several years and it will develop further nuance and integration, revealing deeper mineral character.
  • Chemin de Moscou takes its name from the vineyard parcels and a venerable tree that once dominated the horizon—a landmark now part of the domaine's history.

Breeding
Aged 21 months in barrel, one-third Syrah in new Burgundy oak for 9 months, Grenache and Cinsault in demi-muids and large foudres for 9 months, then blending of the finest barrels from each variety followed by 12 months' maturation of the final blend in the same vessels.
On the eye
Deep garnet robe, nearly opaque, suggesting considerable concentration.
On the nose
An expressive bouquet of dark berries, white pepper, cinnamon and warm spices, with a floral note of violet emerging as the wine opens.
In the mouth
The palate is generous and welcoming, layered with forest fruits, spice and subtle mineral notes. The wine shows excellent length, with fine-grained tannins providing structure without heaviness.
M. Francois
A versatile food wine of genuine character. Pair with game birds, roasted poultry, and aged cheeses. The wine's structure and spice profile also complement Mediterranean herb-based dishes and charcuterie. Drink from 2024 onwards; will develop gracefully over the next five to seven years.
