Aged 12 months in French oak barrels, 228-litre capacity
On the eye
Pale golden-yellow, limpid and bright
On the nose
An open, inviting bouquet expressing ripe white stone fruit—pear and peach—with delicate hints of fresh tropical notes. The aromatics develop with air, revealing subtle mineral undertones.
In the mouth
The palate opens with roundness and suavity. A generous mid-palate offers textural richness and subtle weight, whilst maintaining the mineral tension characteristic of the terroir. The finish is clean and persistent.
Aged 10 to 12 months in oak casks, with approximately 20 per cent new wood. This élevage contributes subtle vanilla and toasted notes whilst preserving the wine's mineral purity and varietal character. The oak is integrated rather than dominant, serving to enhance rather than mask the terroir.

Domaine Saumaize-Michelin is a wine estate in Vergisson, Pouilly-Fuissé appellation (Burgundy). Run by Roger and Christine Saumaize. Around 10 hectares of vines. Grape: Chardonnay. Appellations: Pouilly-Fuissé, Saint-Véran, Mâcon-Vergisson. Parcel-by-parcel vinification with oak-barrel ageing. Wines of great minerality and fine concentration.
