Breeding
15 to 18 months in barrels (approximately 25% new oak) on fine lees with regular stirring to add richness.
On the eye
Intense golden hue with brilliant reflections. The depth of colour speaks to the maturity of the vintage and careful oak élevage.
On the nose
The bouquet unfolds with white flowers and stone fruit notes characteristic of fine Viognier. The aromatics develop gradually, revealing layers of complexity with aeration.
In the mouth
The palate expresses itself with maturity and richness, displaying the characteristic fatness of the variety without any lack of definition. The wine possesses good acidity that provides balance and length.
Taburnum stands as the flagship white from Les Vins de Vienne's portfolio. Produced on the precipitous slopes of Seyssuel, it occupies the same position in their Viognier range as their Sotanum does amongst Syrahs: a wine of genuine distinction that warrants comparison with the finest Condrieu expressions.

Les Vins de Vienne is a wine merchant founded in 1996 by Yves Cuilleron, Pierre Gaillard and François Villard in Chavanay (Loire). Specialising in terroir wines from the Northern Rhône Valley. Appellations: Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage, Cornas. Grapes: Syrah, Viognier, Marsanne, Roussanne. Pioneering the revival of the Seyssuel vineyards.
