A domaine of considerable reputation

  • Led by Syrah, this wine displays considerable power and complexity. Dark fruit, pepper and spice notes are supported by a fine tannic structure, refined by the elegance of Grenache and Cinsault. A wine of substance and depth.
  • This is a wine that rewards patience. Lay it down in your cellar for several years and it will develop further nuance and integration, revealing greater complexity with time.
  • Chemin de Moscou takes its name from the vineyard parcels and an ancient tree that once dominated the horizon—now long gone, but remembered in this wine's character.

Breeding
Aged 21 months in barrel, one-third Syrah in new Burgundy oak for 9 months, Grenache and Cinsault in demi-muids and foudres for 9 months, then blending of the finest barrels from each variety followed by 12 months' ageing of the final blend in the same vessels.
On the eye
Deep purple-violet robe, almost opaque in appearance.
On the nose
An expressive bouquet of dark berries, white pepper, cinnamon and warm spices, with a subtle floral note of violet throughout.
In the mouth
The palate is open and welcoming, offering forest fruits with a sophisticated interplay of spice and mineral notes. The wine carries excellent length, with a fine balance between fruit and structure.
M. Francois
This wine pairs excellently with game birds and venison, roasted poultry, and mature cheeses. Its structure and complexity make it a natural companion to dishes with depth and character. Best enjoyed at 16–17°C.
