In the mouth
The palate is generous and fresh, layering ripe red fruits with cassis, raspberry and preserved cherry. Fine tannins provide structure without harshness, whilst notes of liquorice and pepper add complexity. A whisper of resinous character and measured oak integration create an engaging whole, finishing with admirable harmony.
On the nose
The bouquet is expressive and vibrant, opening with fresh red fruits—raspberry and cherry—before revealing subtle spice and a restrained oak influence that enhances rather than dominates the composition.
On the eye
Garnet, with good depth of colour
Breeding
12 months in large wooden vats (56%), barrels (26%) and stainless steel tanks (18%)
M. Francois
This wine pairs beautifully with game—venison, duck and wild boar all find an ideal companion here. The wine's structure and fruit intensity complement the richness of such dishes without overwhelming them. It would equally reward a thoughtful pairing with mature cheeses or a refined meat course.
