A rosé of substance and character

  • From the renowned Domaine de la Mordoree in Tavel, this organic rosé transcends the pale, insubstantial stereotype. La Dame Rousse possesses genuine structure and aromatic complexity, built on Grenache and complementary Rhône varieties, vinified to reveal depth rather than dilute prettiness.
  • The wine displays a deep, ruby-tinged salmon colour—a visual signal of its serious intent. On the palate, it balances the natural richness of Grenache with mineral tension and freshness, making it a rosé that stands confidently alongside red wines at table.
  • Tavel's continental climate and ancient terroir produce rosés of unusual longevity and food-friendliness. This vintage will reward cellaring and pairs with roasted meats, game, and assertive Mediterranean cuisine where lighter rosés would simply fade.

Product features : Domaine de la Mordoree Tavel la Dame Rousse 2024 — Organic

Breeding
Brief élevage in stainless steel only to preserve the purity and brightness of the fruit.
On the eye
Deep, ruby-tinged salmon. Distinctly coloured—far removed from pale, ephemeral rosés.
On the nose
Complex and layered. Ripe red fruits—strawberry, raspberry, cherry—mingle with delicate floral notes of rose and peony. The bouquet unfolds gradually, revealing mineral undertones beneath the fruit.
In the mouth
Substantial and well-structured. The attack is generous; mid-palate shows genuine weight and grip. Grenache's natural richness balances with mineral freshness and acidity, creating tension and length. A rosé with backbone.
M. Francois
La Dame Rousse reconciles red wine enthusiasts with rosé. This is a wine of genuine substance—possessing the aromatic depth and finish rarely encountered in the category. It stands confidently before characterful food, demanding respect rather than apology. A Tavel that proves rosé need not be frivolous.
