WINE | RED WINE | RHÔNE | SAINT-JOSEPH ROUGE
Bottle of : 1.50L

Six generations of winemaking heritage in the Rhône Valley

  • This Saint-Joseph rewards patience. The wine will develop beautifully over the next five to eight years, revealing greater complexity and refinement as the tannins integrate and secondary flavours emerge.
  • The granite terroir of Saint-Joseph imparts a distinctive mineral character, whilst the cool northern exposure preserves freshness and acidity. This tension between richness and restraint defines the appellation's finest expressions.
  • Bernard Gripa's Saint-Joseph demonstrates the elegance this appellation can achieve. The wine balances ripe fruit with savoury notes, offering an aromatic bouquet that speaks of place rather than extraction.

Breeding
One year in oak barrel
On the eye
Bright ruby red with good clarity and depth
On the nose
Aromas of morello cherry and bilberry, with hints of blackcurrant and a whisper of cinnamon. The bouquet is refined and layered, developing secondary notes with aeration.
In the mouth
Pure and expressive on the palate. The tannins are fine-grained and well-integrated, providing structure without heaviness. Good acidity carries the flavours to a clean, persistent finish.
M. Francois
Excellent with roasted beef or veal, where the wine's mineral character and moderate weight complement the meat without overwhelming it. Also pairs well with soft cheeses such as Brie or Camembert, where the acidity and tannins cut through the richness elegantly.
