Six generations of winemaking tradition on this distinguished terroir

  • A wine of considerable complexity, characterised by layered aromatics and a structured palate that rewards attention. The Parady vineyard expresses the full character of Saint-Joseph's northern slopes.
  • Built for the cellar. Whilst approachable now, this wine will develop considerably over the next five to eight years, gaining depth and refinement with patient ageing.
  • Domaine Bernard Gripa operates under reasoned viticulture principles, respecting the terroir and minimising intervention. This philosophy is evident in the wine's purity and balance.

In the mouth
Sunny, precise fruit on the palate. Fine oak, well integrated, lends elegance and refinement. The tannin structure is precise and generous; the wine possesses real volume and race. A wine of substance.
On the nose
Expressive and layered: dark chocolate, black olive tapenade, smoke, and charcuterie notes weave together. There is considerable aromatic depth here, unfolding gradually.
On the eye
Deep, lustrous garnet. The colour speaks to ripe fruit and careful extraction.
Breeding
Ageing for 2 years in oak barrels
M. Francois
This is a Saint-Joseph built for grilled red meat—a properly aged entrecôte or a well-marbled côte de boeuf will find an ideal partner here. The wine's structure and tannin grip complement the richness of the meat beautifully. I would not rush this bottle; give it three years in a cool cellar first.
