A well-kept secret of the Rhône Valley

  • A refined white wine from the Rhône Valley, this cuvée brings together three classic white varietals in a harmonious blend that rewards careful attention. The result is a wine of genuine character and expressiveness, crafted by a domaine with a long-standing reputation for quality.
  • The marriage of Viognier, Marsanne and Roussanne creates a wine of considerable aromatic depth. Viognier contributes stone-fruit richness and floral notes, whilst Marsanne and Roussanne add textural weight and mineral definition. The balance between these elements defines the wine's appeal.
  • Domaine Louis Chèze has built its reputation through consistent commitment to authentic winemaking and respect for terroir. This wine exemplifies that philosophy: unpretentious yet considered, it speaks clearly of its provenance and the skill of its maker.

Product features : Domaine Louis Cheze Vsig Blanc Ni Vu Mais Connu 2023 — Vin de Pays

Breeding
Aged in stainless steel to preserve the purity of the fruit and the natural freshness of the Viognier, without oak influence
On the eye
Pale golden yellow with silvery highlights; bright and inviting appearance.
On the nose
An expressive bouquet dominated by white-fleshed stone fruits—peach and pear—with floral notes of acacia and hawthorn. A subtle citrus undertone adds freshness and definition to the aromatic profile.
In the mouth
The palate is round and silky, with lively acidity that balances the richness of the Viognier. Flavours of peach, apricot and white flowers develop, finishing with a delicate mineral edge. The wine is generous yet refreshing, with pleasing length and a food-friendly character.
M. Francois
Ni Vu Mais Connu is an approachable, convivial white that showcases Viognier's expressiveness without pretension. It excels as an aperitif or alongside lighter fare: salads, seafood, grilled fish. The wine's bright fruit and rounded mouthfeel make it an excellent introduction to the varietal's potential. A wine to enjoy without ceremony, in good company.

DOMAINE LOUIS CHEZE

On the granite hillsides of Limony in Ardèche, Domaine Louis Cheze works 35 hectares within the Saint-Joseph appellation, on the right bank of the Rhône. Louis Chèze took over the property in 1978 with a single hectare, building the estate steadily around Syrah for the reds and Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier for the whites, with yields held between 25 and 40 hl/ha depending on the cuvée. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the consistency of its wines, the frank mineral expression of Limony's granite, and the commitment of three generations — Louis, Camille and Benoît Chèze — to one of the northern Rhône's most demanding terroirs. A dependable reference from the Vallée du Rhône.
