The secondary expression of one of Pauillac's established vineyards
- This is the second wine of Château Bellegrave, offering an approachable expression of the estate's terroir whilst maintaining the hallmarks of serious Pauillac winemaking.
- The blend comprises 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, a composition that reflects the gravelly left-bank character of the appellation.
- A wine of considerable balance, built upon a framework of ripe, structured tannins. The élevage has been managed to preserve fruit definition whilst allowing the wine to develop complexity.

Breeding
Aged in French oak barrels (fine grain) with 45% new wood for 14 to 16 months depending on the vintage
On the eye
Deep garnet with a lively intensity at the rim.
On the nose
Generous fruit expression: dark cherry and cassis are complemented by subtle cedar and graphite notes, with a mineral undertone characteristic of the Pauillac gravels.
In the mouth
The palate displays good structure and balance. Ripe tannins provide a firm backbone without overwhelming the fruit, whilst the finish shows length and a pleasing dryness.
This wine will serve well alongside charcuterie and red meats, particularly those prepared with sauce. Consider it with braised beef, a traditional braserade, or game birds such as quail with grapes. The tannin structure will benefit from decanting thirty minutes before service.
