Elegance and finesse from a distinguished Premier Cru

  • From the renowned Clos de Verger climat, this Premier Cru Pommard exemplifies the craftsmanship of Domaine Germain Père & Fils. The vineyard's south-facing exposure and limestone-rich soil impart distinctive character to the wine.
  • The palate reveals layered complexity: dark red and black fruit aromas evolve towards leather, chocolate and pepper notes as the wine matures, developing considerable depth over time.
  • A harmonious tannic structure provides excellent length and presence on the palate. The wine's firm but refined tannins will soften gracefully with cellaring, making it an ideal accompaniment to game, beef and mature cheeses.

In the mouth
Round yet structured, with firm tannins that promise to soften with time. Good weight and grip on the mid-palate, finishing with persistent aromatic length and a mineral undertone.
On the nose
Blackberry, blueberry and redcurrant lead the bouquet, with hints of cherry stone. Secondary aromas of leather, dark chocolate and white pepper emerge as the wine opens, suggesting good ageing potential.
On the eye
Deep ruby with purple-garnet hues, displaying the colour depth characteristic of the vintage.
Breeding
100% aged in French oak barrels, of which 35 to 40% new, for 15 months
M. Francois
This Pommard Clos de Verger unites power with restraint—a hallmark of fine Burgundy. The wine's complexity and tannic architecture make it a natural partner for red meat, game and aged cheeses. A worthy addition to any serious Burgundy collection, best enjoyed from 2026 onwards.
