The authentic expression of Fleurie

  • Jean-Paul Brun's mastery of Gamay is evident in this cuvée. Grille Midi captures the essence of the Fleurie terroir with precision and restraint, demonstrating why this producer commands respect amongst serious wine merchants.
  • This wine will develop beautifully over the next five to eight years in a cool cellar. The structure supports patient ageing, revealing greater complexity and depth as the tannins integrate and secondary flavours emerge.
  • Sourced directly from the domaine, we offer this wine at the producer's own price, without the customary merchant markup. This represents genuine value for those who appreciate authentic Beaujolais.

In the mouth
The palate balances finesse with a gentle roundness. Red fruit flavours are supported by fine-grained tannins and good acidity, creating a wine of elegance rather than power. The finish is clean and persistent.
On the nose
Delicate red fruit—cherry and raspberry—with subtle floral notes of violet and peony. A whisper of white pepper adds complexity without dominating the bouquet.
On the eye
Brilliant ruby with a fine, translucent quality
M. Francois
Serve this wine with a generous charcuterie board—cured meats, pâtés and terrines show it at its best. The wine's acidity and subtle tannins complement the salt and fat beautifully. Decant twenty minutes before service to allow the bouquet to open.
