In the mouth
The attack is fresh and precise. Silky, dynamic tannins provide structure without heaviness. The finish is marked by soft spices and subtle cedar notes, with a lingering elegance that speaks to the wine's breeding and potential for development.
On the nose
A complex bouquet opens with floral notes, followed by red fruits, white pepper, and a savoury hint of tapenade. The aromatics evolve with time in the glass, revealing further layers of spice and mineral character.
On the eye
Deep purple with crimson reflections
Breeding
Ageing of 12 to 18 months depending on the vintage and wine tasting assessment
M. Francois
This Côte-Rôtie Quatuor represents the marriage of power and restraint that defines the finest northern Rhône wines. The Syrah expresses itself fully on the steep terraces, delivering rich dark fruit and spice with underlying floral freshness. This is a wine of considerable ageing potential, capable of evolving beautifully over ten years or more. It pairs admirably with game, red meat preparations, and classic French cuisine. A sophisticated choice for those who understand that great wine need not announce itself.
