In the mouth
Ample and layered, with powerful yet silken tannins. Dark fruit flavours—cassis and blackberry—are complemented by spice notes of pepper and liquorice, with a distinctive mineral thread. The finish is long and refined, revealing leather and tobacco nuances that evolve gracefully.
On the nose
Intense aromas of ripe dark fruits—blackcurrant and blackberry—mingled with violet, cracked black pepper, and subtle smoke and oak influences from careful barrel ageing. The bouquet unfolds with considerable complexity.
On the eye
Deep garnet robe, nearly opaque, with ruby highlights and considerable depth of colour
Breeding
12 to 14 months in oak barrels, with a proportion of new wood, to structure and refine the wine whilst preserving fruit purity
M. Francois
A distinguished Hermitage that exemplifies the appellation's noble expression. The wine achieves a compelling balance between aromatic intensity and elegant tannin structure, positioning it as a wine of considerable cellaring potential, capable of developing over several decades. It pairs beautifully with game, braised red meats and mature cheeses. An essential reference for serious collectors of northern Rhône wines.
