A wine for congenial moments and shared tables

  • This cuvée was established in 1986 at the instigation of Jean Brouilly, the distinguished chef formerly of Tarare. It represents a considered approach to Beaujolais, marrying tradition with the character of mature vines.
  • The wine offers the freshness of red berries with an appealing gourmand character. Cassis and blackberry notes combine with a natural vivacity that makes it genuinely food-friendly.
  • Organic viticulture underpins this release. The winemaking respects Beaujolais tradition, allowing the terroir and the age of the vines to express themselves with clarity and restraint.

Aromas of fresh red fruits dominate: cassis and blackberry are prominent, with subtle floral undertones. The bouquet is clean and inviting, reflecting the wine's natural freshness.
On the eye
Purple-hued robe with good depth and clarity
M. Francois
This is a genuine expression of Beaujolais from mature vines, made with integrity and without affectation. The organic credentials and the wine's natural freshness make it an honest choice for those who value authenticity. Drink with charcuterie, soft cheeses, or light poultry dishes. A wine that rewards the table rather than demanding attention.

DOMAINES CHERMETTE

Based at Saint-Vérand in the Rhône, Domaines Chermette farm 53 hectares of predominantly granite soils at the heart of the Beaujolais appellation. The estate traces its origins to the seventeenth century, when it was known as Domaine du Vissoux; Pierre-Marie Chermette took the reins in 1982, and in 2023 his son Jean-Etienne gave it its current name. Certified Terra Vitis, the range centres on Gamay grown on granite — producing reds of real character and definition — alongside whites from Chardonnay on clay-limestone parcels. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the rigour of its agri-environmental approach and the precision with which each cuvée reflects its terroir. A benchmark address for those who take Beaujolais seriously.
