On the eye
Clear ruby robe, bright and luminous. The pale intensity is typical of restrained extraction, revealing the elegance within.
On the nose
Distinctly elegant on red fruit: cherry and wild strawberry dominate. Subtle floral notes of peony emerge, with a whisper of liquorice—the signature of Gevrey's limestone terroir.
In the mouth
Generous, well-structured tannins provide backbone without heaviness. The wine maintains admirable finesse through its length, with good balance between fruit and mineral grip.
Excellent with beef fillet, particularly when simply prepared. Pairs beautifully with lightly spiced lamb dishes. Will develop further complexity with five to eight years' cellaring, revealing deeper mineral and game notes suitable for richer game preparations.
