A moment of pure pleasure in the glass

  • This wine balances generosity with refinement. The 2021 vintage displays the hallmark elegance of Gevrey-Chambertin, with silken tannins and a graceful constitution that rewards patient cellaring.
  • The Petite Chapelle climat expresses the distinctive character of its terroir with clarity and precision. Limestone-rich soils impart mineral tension and complexity to the ripe fruit.
  • A wine of genuine structure and depth. The 2021 possesses the acidity and tannin framework to develop further in bottle, revealing greater complexity over the next five to ten years.

Product features : Domaine Marchand-Grillot Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Petite Chapelle 2021

Breeding
Aged half in new oak from Bertranges forests and half in two-year-old barrels for 16 months.
On the eye
Brilliant ruby robe with excellent clarity and depth of colour.
On the nose
Aromatic complexity unfolds gradually: ripe cherry and plum lead, followed by subtle liquorice and a whisper of violet. The bouquet is composed and refined rather than showy.
In the mouth
Silken and poised on the palate. Red fruit flavours are supported by fine, well-integrated tannins. The finish is clean and persistent, with a mineral edge that speaks to the terroir.
M. Francois
Serve this wine with duck breast in balsamic reduction, Flemish beef stew, or game birds. The wine's structure and acidity make it an excellent food companion. Decant thirty minutes before service to allow the aromatics to develop fully.
