- A wine of considerable structure and refinement. The palate presents intensity and tension, with white fruit and citrus notes sustained by a mineral backbone. Elegant rather than heavy, despite its weight.
- The Hagenschlauf vineyard occupies the historic Mandelberg lieu-dit, whose name—meaning 'almond hill' in German—recalls the legend of Charlemagne's accidental planting of almond trees amongst the vines centuries ago.

In the mouth
Intense and taut on the palate. The wine presents good acidity and mineral tension, with citrus and stone fruit flavours developing through the mid-palate. Dry finish with persistent minerality.
On the nose
Expressive bouquet of citrus fruits—lemon and grapefruit—mingled with white orchard fruits and subtle floral notes. Clean, mineral-driven aromatics.
On the eye
Brilliant, pale gold with greenish reflections
A wine of considerable pedigree. The 2020 vintage earned 91/100 from the Vinalies des Oenologues panel. Pairs exceptionally well with Alsatian choucroute garnie, or indeed any pork-based charcuterie. The wine's acidity and mineral character cut through richness with precision.
