In the mouth
The palate displays admirable balance and structure. Mid-weight but concentrated, with silky tannins and a mineral finish that lingers with quiet authority.
On the nose
The bouquet unfolds with red cherry and wild strawberry, complemented by subtle white pepper and a whisper of forest floor. The aromatics are restrained yet persistent.
On the eye
Deep, luminous garnet with excellent clarity and definition.
Breeding
Aged on lees for 16 to 18 months, including 12 months in oak barrels.
This Volnay pairs beautifully with couscous or tagine dishes, where its red fruit and spice complement North African flavours. Equally at home with mature, pungent cheeses. Decant thirty minutes before service to allow the wine to fully express itself.
