In the mouth
The palate displays admirable complexity. Supple, well-integrated tannins provide structure without heaviness, whilst the mid-palate reveals red and dark fruit character with a mineral undertone. The finish is persistent and elegant.
On the nose
The bouquet unfolds with dark berry fruits—blackcurrant and plum—complemented by subtle floral notes and a whisper of forest floor. The aromatics are refined and layered.
On the eye
Deep ruby robe with excellent clarity and luminosity.
Breeding
Aged on lees for 16 to 18 months, including 12 months in oak barrels.
This wine will prove an excellent companion to game birds prepared simply—roasted pheasant or woodcock with seasonal vegetables would be ideal. Its structure and acidity also make it suitable for lighter meat dishes and fine charcuterie. Decant thirty minutes before service to allow the aromatics to fully express themselves.

Established on the east-facing slopes of Volnay in the Côte-d'Or, Domaine de la Pousse d'Or farms 17 hectares of argillaceous limestone soils under full biodynamic certification. Founded in 1964 by Gérard Potel and taken over in 1997 by Patrick Landanger — whose son Benoît has managed the estate since 2018 — it produces Pinot Noir of real precision and mineral character, firmly rooted in the Volnay terroir. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the rigour of its biodynamic commitment, the consistency of its cuvées across vintages, and the genuine typicity it offers the serious Burgundy enthusiast.
