In the mouth
The palate displays admirable structure and definition. Well-integrated tannins provide backbone without heaviness, whilst the mid-palate offers depth and persistence. A wine of restraint and breeding.
On the nose
The bouquet unfolds with considerable finesse, revealing notes of red and black fruits—cherry, plum and blackcurrant—layered with subtle mineral undertones characteristic of this prestigious climat.
On the eye
Bright, deeply coloured robe with excellent clarity and luminosity.
Breeding
Aged on lees for 16 to 18 months, including 12 months in oak barrels.
This Clos de la Roche complements roasted poultry with seasonal vegetables admirably, and proves particularly suited to game birds such as quail. The wine's balance and acidity make it versatile at table, equally at home with lighter preparations or more substantial fare.

DOMAINE DE LA POUSSE D'OR
Established on the east-facing slopes of Volnay in the Côte-d'Or, Domaine de la Pousse d'Or farms 17 hectares of argillaceous limestone soils under full biodynamic certification. Founded in 1964 by Gérard Potel and taken over in 1997 by Patrick Landanger — whose son Benoît has managed the estate since 2018 — it produces Pinot Noir of real precision and mineral character, firmly rooted in the Volnay terroir. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the rigour of its biodynamic commitment, the consistency of its cuvées across vintages, and the genuine typicity it offers the serious Burgundy enthusiast. A dependable reference for Volnay at its most authentic.
