- Domaine Guigal was established in 1946 by Étienne Guigal in Ampuis, the historic village and cradle of the Côte-Rôtie appellation. Three generations have since built a reputation for wines of exceptional depth and complexity.

In the mouth
Considerable richness and structure. The terroir expresses itself through the elegance and power of the tannins, which are refined yet assertive, promising years of evolution.
On the nose
Aromas of dark fruits, leather and liquorice, with roasted and oriental spice notes. A distinctive eucalyptus character emerges. The aromatic intensity is commanding and complex.
On the eye
Deep ruby-red robe with violet reflections; notably concentrated and saturated in colour.
Breeding
Unique ageing of 40 months in new oak barrels.
A wine of substance and breeding, suited to roasted game birds and venison. The concentration and tannin structure will reward cellaring. Best approached with patience: decant generously if drinking within five years, or lay down for a decade or more.

Domaine E. Guigal is a wine estate and merchant founded in 1946 in Ampuis (Rhône). Run by the Guigal family. Key appellations: Côte-Rôtie (La Mouline, La Turque, La Landonne), Condrieu, Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Grapes: Syrah, Viognier, Grenache, Marsanne.
