Family values and illustrious terroir in every bottle

  • Established in 1946 by Étienne Guigal in Ampuis, the historic cradle of Côte-Rôtie, Domaine Guigal remains rooted in the northern Rhône's finest traditions. Four generations of family stewardship have shaped a house renowned for its commitment to terroir and craftsmanship.
  • This Crozes-Hermitage expresses the northern expression of Syrah with characteristic freshness and structural balance. The wine retains the varietal's mineral precision whilst avoiding excessive extraction, a hallmark of Guigal's measured approach to élevage.
  • A versatile accompaniment to red meats, particularly game and venison, and equally suited to mature cheeses. Its tannin structure and savoury complexity make it an excellent choice for the British table.

Product features : Domaine Guigal – Crozes-Hermitage 2021

In the mouth
Structured and substantial, with prominent but refined tannins. Blackcurrant bud and vanilla notes emerge on the mid-palate, supported by a framework of well-integrated wood influence from extended barrel maturation.
On the nose
Red stone fruits—cherry and strawberry—mingle with subtle oak-derived aromas. The bouquet develops with restrained elegance, revealing mineral undertones characteristic of the appellation.
On the eye
Deep, dark garnet robe with considerable depth and intensity
Breeding
Aged in oak barrel for approximately 24 months
M. Francois
A wine of remarkable freshness despite its weight. The tannins are assertive yet polished by prolonged élevage in oak, demonstrating Guigal's mastery of balance. Suitable for near-term enjoyment or modest cellaring. A classical expression of Crozes-Hermitage terroir.
