Family tradition and terroir commitment from the northern Rhône

  • Domaine Guigal was established in 1946 by Étienne Guigal in Ampuis, the historic village at the heart of the Côte-Rôtie appellation. The house remains rooted in this ancient terroir, drawing its reputation from generations of stewardship.
  • This Saint-Joseph expresses the character of a rising northern Rhône appellation through dark stone fruits and refined tannin structure. The wine carries the dignity and precision expected of this distinguished region.
  • Les Halles de Quercamps sources directly from the domaine, offering you access to this family-owned producer at fair merchant pricing, without unnecessary margin.

Product features : Domaine Guigal - Saint-Joseph 2020

In the mouth
The attack is direct and fruit-forward. Tannins are rounded and supple, providing structure without harshness. The wine shows good balance and a clean, persistent finish.
On the nose
Powerful aromatics of dark red fruits with delicate oak-derived nuances. The bouquet is layered and inviting, suggesting both fruit concentration and careful élevage.
On the eye
Deep ruby with violet glints.
Breeding
This wine is aged in oak barrels of second fill for approximately 24 months.
M. Francois
Saint-Joseph pairs excellently with roasted and grilled red meats, game, and mature cheeses. The wine's moderate weight and refined tannins make it equally suitable for lighter meat preparations and charcuterie. Drink now or cellar for 5–8 years.
