Family values, illustrious terroir, wines of distinction

  • Established in 1946 by Étienne Guigal in Ampuis, the historic heart of the Côte-Rôtie appellation, Domaine Guigal remains a custodian of Rhône tradition and excellence. Three generations have stewarded the family's commitment to the region's finest expressions.
  • This Hermitage exemplifies the house style: a wine of breeding and restraint that rewards patience. Structured yet refined, it is a classic wine for the cellar, built to develop complexity over years. A serious expression of northern Rhône character.
  • Les Halles de Quercamps offers this wine at proprietary terms, reflecting our direct relationship with the domaine and our commitment to fair merchant pricing for discerning collectors.

Product features : Domaine Guigal - Hermitage 2020

In the mouth
Firm, structured tannins frame a wine of substance and grip. Cassis bud and vanilla notes develop on the palate, with a finish of liquorice and white pepper that lingers with authority.
On the nose
Aromas of red berries and warm spice, with subtle oak influence. The bouquet unfolds gradually, revealing delicate floral notes beneath.
On the eye
Deep ruby with violet undertones. A wine of considerable concentration and depth.
Breeding
The wine is aged for approximately 36 months in oak barrels, of which 50% are new.
M. Francois
A natural partner to roasted lamb and venison, where its tannin structure finds balance. Equally rewarding with mature cheeses. Allow decanting if drinking within five years; this wine benefits from bottle age. A wine that will continue to evolve for two decades or more.
