The hallmark of a great Rhône appellation: consistency and depth

  • This wine reveals a singular complexity born from the marriage of terroir and meticulous winemaking. The distinctive character of Côte-Rôtie emerges through layers of fruit, spice, and carefully managed oak influence.
  • The steep terraced parcels of Brune et Blonde, with their schist and silico-calcareous soils, impart a mineral precision and structural integrity that distinguishes this cuvée. The vineyard's challenging topography concentrates flavour and character.
  • Balance defines this wine: ripe red fruit and subtle spice notes are harmonised by rounded, integrated tannins. Extended élevage in wood has softened the structure whilst preserving freshness, creating a wine of both immediate appeal and ageing potential.

In the mouth
Silken tannins frame a palate of raspberry, blackberry, and subtle vanilla. The wine shows admirable balance: acidity is restrained, tannins are refined yet provide structure for cellaring, and the finish is long and composed.
On the nose
Aromatic complexity unfolds with red berries, white pepper, and delicate wood spice. The bouquet speaks of careful élevage and ripe fruit maturity, layered and evolving in the glass.
On the eye
Deep ruby red, with the dark intensity characteristic of fine Côte-Rôtie
Breeding
Minimum 36 months in oak barrels with 50% new wood
M. Francois
A wine of genuine elegance, suited to game, roasted red meats, beef daube, or spiced pigeon. The complexity and structure also reward pairing with mature cheeses. Drink now or cellar with confidence for a decade or more.
