Gamay Saint-Romain

A concentrated Gamay from carefully selected old vines

  • Produced from mature vines affected by millerandage—a natural phenomenon yielding smaller berries of exceptional concentration. This selective process delivers a wine of considerable aromatic depth and flavour intensity.
  • Farmed organically with meticulous attention to soil health and terroir expression. No chemical inputs; the wine speaks purely of its origin and the vintage's character.
  • A versatile accompaniment to duck breast, grilled red meats, and wild mushroom preparations. The wine's structure and spice notes complement refined cuisine with understated elegance.

M. Francois
This wine pairs beautifully with spiced pork dishes and veal with girolles. The organic farming and careful vinification allow the Côte Roannaise terroir to express itself fully. A thoughtful choice for those seeking authenticity and balance in their Gamay.

Nicolas françois, propriétaire passionné des halles de quercamps

DOMAINE SEROL

Perched on south-south-east facing slopes above Renaison at 400 to 550 metres, Domaine Serol farms 38 hectares of granite and sandy soils in the Côte Roannaise appellation. A family property traceable to the seventeenth century and now in its fifth generation, the estate was taken on by Stéphane and Carine Sérol in 1996, who converted the vineyards to organic and biodynamic farming and brought the Gamay Saint-Romain — the appellation's emblematic grape — to a remarkable level of precision. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this estate for the rigour of its agronomic approach, the character of its granite terroirs, and the confident personality of its reds, whites, and rosés. A quietly authoritative address in the Loire.
