Breeding
18 months in French oak barrels, with a significant proportion of new wood, imparting subtle oak structure and elegant toasted aromas
On the eye
Deep purple-garnet robe, intense and luminous
On the nose
Complex and expressive bouquet. Ripe dark fruits predominate—blackcurrant and plum—with graphite minerality. Secondary notes of vanilla, coffee and truffle emerge with aeration.
In the mouth
Full-bodied and velvety on the palate. Powerful yet well-integrated tannins support flavours of cassis, blackberry and prune, interwoven with spice, cedarwood and tobacco. The finish is long and refined.
M. Francois
Versatile with red meat, game and aged cheeses. Approachable now, yet will develop considerable complexity over decades in a cool cellar. A wine that rewards patience and reveals its full stature with time.
