Product features : Chateau "La Petite Eglise" 2023 Pomerol

Breeding
12 to 14 months in French oak barrels, with 80 to 85 per cent new wood
On the eye
Bright ruby robe with clarity and luminosity. Less dense than the warmer vintages of 2020 and 2022.
On the nose
Pure aromatics of wild raspberry, red cherry, and woodland strawberry. The bouquet is restrained and inviting, with no heaviness.
In the mouth
The attack is silky and refined. This is a wine built on elegance rather than power, with fine-grained tannins and a persistent finish.
M. Francois
The challenge lies in choosing between roasted poultry with Provençal herbs, beef bourguignon, or lamb skewers. Each pairing reveals different facets of this accomplished Pomerol. A wine that proves fine Bordeaux need not be austere.

CHATEAU L'EGLISE-CLINET

On the plateau of Pomerol, north of the church, Château l'Eglise-Clinet covers 4 hectares of gravel and clay over an iron-rich subsoil characteristic of the appellation. Founded in 1882, the château was taken over in 1983 by Denis Durantou, who elevated it to the front rank of Pomerol. Since 2020, his daughter Noémie has led the estate with equal rigour, holding yields to a maximum of 35 hl/ha. At Halles Quercamps, we have selected this château for the precision of its terroir, the discipline of its viticulture, and the consistent quality of its reds — Merlot-dominant wines shaped by soils that lend them both depth and structure. A composed, well-bred Pomerol we recommend to lovers of great Right Bank Bordeaux.
