WINE | RED WINE | BORDEAUX | SAINT-EMILION GRAND CRU
Bottle of : 0.75L

A legendary Saint-Emilion from one of Bordeaux's oldest families

  • The Despagne family has stewarded this estate since 1812, establishing themselves amongst Saint-Emilion's most enduring proprietors. Their commitment to sustainable viticulture culminated in HVE certification in 2013, reflecting meticulous stewardship of both vineyard and cellar.
  • This Grand Cru Classé embodies the elegance and precision for which the Corbin sector—positioned between Saint-Emilion and Pomerol—is renowned. Certified organic, it demonstrates consistent quality across vintages, rewarding patient cellaring and immediate pleasure alike.
  • A wine of remarkable composure: fine, powdery tannins integrate seamlessly with bright acidity, whilst aromatic complexity unfolds across the palate. The structure suggests graceful evolution over the coming decade, yet remains approachable now.

Product features : Château Grand Corbin-Despagne 2023 Saint-Emilion Grand Cru — Organic

Breeding
12 to 15 months in French oak barrels (approximately 50% new wood)
On the eye
Deep ruby robe with purple glints. Brilliant clarity and perfect limpidity testify to meticulous cellar work.
On the nose
Complex and refined: red and dark fruits (raspberry, black cherry, blackberry) meld with Cabernet Franc's violet, liquorice and fresh mint. Delicate graphite minerality and subtle oak (vanilla, light toast) complete the bouquet.
In the mouth
Elegant and balanced. Tannins are remarkably fine, powdery and perfectly integrated. Refreshing acidity—a gift of the clay soils—extends the finish. The wine is long, silken, with lingering notes of spice and fresh fruit.
M. Francois
One of the Corbin sector's most respected domains. Certified organic, this Grand Cru Classé is distinguished by its aromatic precision, elegance and vintage-to-vintage consistency. The 2023 displays the house's hallmark refinement. Pair with beef paprikash or game preparations that honour its mineral-driven structure.
